One of the goals I have—I mentioned this earlier—is that I want to see surface water flow into Katy, Texas.

My mother lived in Katy from 1940. In 1960, when they shut the plant down, everybody had to go find housing in and around Katy. My mother and dad built a house there in 1960.

About three years ago, she passed away at 104.

I was hoping she’d get to see surface water, but I don’t think that was ever even possible. She did get to see the discussion about it.

So there’s a lot of personal history and a personal desire to see people taking care of the water.

It’s a story to tell—what the quality of the water is.

And we have two top-notch guys running the Authority’s pumping stations. They are doing a great job.

When you have that kind of people, and the people over construction doing the job they’re doing, it makes you feel proud.
