All the water authorities are quite different. I will tell you that the West Harris County Board of Directors is very engaged.

A lot of the directors’ expertise is in areas that tailor to some of the programs we have underway.

I’ve always felt supported by the board. I’ve always felt like they want to be fair and reasonable. They ask good, intelligent questions, and then they listen to what you have to say.

It’s been a great experience for me to have worked with them. I think they are doing a great job.

The amount of time that the board commits really is a public service to Harris County. It’s phenomenal because they spend so much time trying to do the right thing.

The amount of fees they can earn as board members is capped, and most of them reach that cap in the spring. Yet they continue participating in meetings and staying engaged.

I think they are all dedicated and really care about our mission. That’s my personal take on it.
