The Surface Water Supply Project supported jobs far beyond the construction sites. Chase Juhl reflects on the construction managers, contractors, truck drivers, manufacturers, and other workers whose efforts helped deliver the regional water system.

I think about how many jobs the Surface Water Supply Project creates. I don’t think anybody takes a chance to stop and look at the day-to-day of how many people are on this program.
That includes the construction managers, the contractors, the contractors’ field personnel, the trucking companies that supply the dirt, and the people working at the banks and production facilities.
All the pipe that’s made in Texas—in Dallas and Paris, Texas—provides jobs for people in manufacturing.
Those plants have been running for four years nonstop with West Harris County work. Then there are the truckers who bring that pipe down.
You could go on and on about how many jobs the Surface Water Supply Project has provided.
