I feel so blessed that I’ve been able to work on this for the last 20-plus years.
It’s kind of neat to be able to say that I saw this at the beginning, before anything was out there—before anything was built, dug, or covered up.
It’s been incredible to work on something for so long and see it go from the early planning stages to being built.
Back in 2004, we were asking, “How are we ever going to get water from the Northeast Water Purification Plant?”
It’s no Hoover Dam, but to me it’s kind of like that. I look back at the Hoover Dam and think, “I can’t believe they were able to build that.”
I think people are going to say the same thing about the West. “I can’t believe they were able to build all of this.”
We’ve installed hundreds and hundreds of miles of large-diameter pipeline, and because of that, we have a dependable supply of water.
