I’m Mark Janneck, and I’m one of the directors on the board.
I was President of Horsepen Bayou MUD for 16 years. We had some subsidence issues with our well casings, where the ground shrunk and our well casings kinked at least three times.
So I had an interest in subsidence and what we could do to prevent it.
Seeing the accomplishments of what the previous board set up, I think easements were probably one of the biggest things that most people don’t realize—the effort it takes to acquire the land to put these pipes in the ground and get it from one end of Houston all the way to the other side of the region.
The tunneling effort—it’s just amazing, the amount of work that’s gone into this project, and hopefully the outcome will be a benefit to the public and the communities around us.
