When you think of water line projects, people often ask me what I do for a living. I may hesitate because it might sound like I put PVC pipe together for sprinkler systems. But the truth is, this is major infrastructure.

These are large-diameter water lines. It takes pumping facilities to get the water pushed through them. Then, at the end points, there are meter stations that control and deliver the right amount of water to the MUD districts.

These are major projects, and they have progressively gotten bigger over the years. They started out in the 36- to 42-inch range, and now we’ve been installing 96-inch pipelines over much greater distances to transfer even more water to the west side of town.
